Well, never thought of celebrate my birthday. My friends insisted of celecbrated for me. So, I suggested may be can buy some food to my house.
End up, they bought chilli crabs, black pepper crabs, buns and cake (nice cake). And I bought fried rice, vegetable and chicken. For four of us, that was a lot of food. We ate until very fool. Lucky, Harry came down after his dinner at my parent's house with the kids. He also ate some.
Yesterday went to McDonald to have lunch. When I stepped in, saw one whole patch of yellow colour right in front of me. There were more than 10 person at the counter. Wow...........so crowded!!! I asked myself why so many staffs here...
McDonald so good......at this moment, still employed so many people.
I sat in front where I can see the counter. I think they were having some training.
This year, all of a sudden feel like making some pineapple tarts. I had stopped making the tarts for quite sometime, reason: very lazy. Also becos very scared of cooking the pineapple, a lotsof work.
Last week, at the cold storage, saw this ready made pineapple jam, cost S$4.30 per pack. In my heart, I said ok, since now I can find the ready made pineapple jam, I shall do some tarts this year.
These tarts are a must for the Chinese New Year. The jam is of pineapple and it is quite tedious to cook, so it is once a year affair for these tarts.
I had checked a few recipes from the internet, and asked some people. So, decided to try this recipe as follow:
PINEAPPLE TARTS Make about 70 tarts
One packet of the Pineapple Jam (from cold storage)
Pastry/Base:
500 gm Plain Flour 320 gm Butter 3 eggs White 1 egg Yolk, the rest used for glazing 1/4 tsb Salt 2 tbp Corn Flour Some Cold Water
Stir the plain flour and the corn flour, together with the salt.
Then, add in the butter which already cut into some cube form.
Use only the fingers to mix both, not the whole hands.
After that, add in the egg white and one yolk. Mix it with some cold water, until it form a dough.
Chill it in the refrigerator for at least 30 mins. I put it overnight.
This year, I tried to make a round ball pineapple tarts.
Nicole wanted to help me. So, I let her tried the glazing.
Look at her, so serious! hahaaa......
Preheat the oven at 220 degree C, bake the tarts for 25 mins.
Yesterday, Vanda had a shocked to see her sister, Nicole's big photo, put right in front of her school. Also Nicole previous school. She laughed and laughed non stop.....! Very funny!
My dad told me... he sent her to school yesterday.
Nicole's Birthday, celebrated early becos her dad going sailing on the actual day. So, we decided on the Sunday while everybody is free.
A very simple celebration. Not all of them attended. We had lunch then proceed to my grandmum's house to have the cut cake session. Then, my aunties bought cookies for her, her favoured.
Another birthday, my grandmum. After the new year count down's party, next day (new year), had to wake up early to prepare the food. Very tired! I don't really have the time to really stay at home and rest, had my own time.......
Really very very tired!!
Well, the party was quite fun. Food, a lots of food. Eat until very full!!! Then, watched movie, played games.
Dinner, eat again........wow......how to loose weight......!!!
